The Diversity Group Annual Networking Conference 2011

Thursday September 22nd 2011
St Georges Hall, St Georges Place, Liverpool, L1 1JJ

The Diversity Group would like to welcome you to the annual Diversity Group Conference, including the New Provisions on the Single Equality Act, which will be held at the historical and very beautifully architected St George’s Hall in Liverpool on Thursday 22nd September 2011.  The government has added new provisions to the current Single Equality Act which will be put into effect on 6th April 2011. These provisions will be there to protect the rights of individuals as well as advance equal opportunities for everyone within the workforce, regardless of their disability, race, age, gender, sexual orientation, cultural or religious beliefs.

The Single Equality Act is in place to provide a much simpler, modern and accessible outline of discrimination law to prevent staff from being unfairly treated by their employers. The Single Equality Act makes it easier for businesses to understand the law, therefore being in a better position to comply with it. Implementing the act gives employers the chance to achieve a more diverse personnel by choosing the most suitable candidate for the job when faced with candidates of diverse backgrounds and equal merit.

The provisions are being put into action at different times so that organisations affected by the act can prepare for the new laws. At The Diversity Group, we truly believe in the Single Equality Act therefore our conference will assist your organisation to fully understand and comply with the provisions, hereby giving your company an advantage when it comes to diversifying the workforce.
